The Power of Forgiveness

Forgiveness does not erase the past, but looks upon it with compassion.

A few days ago I watched this incredible video and I think it is really worth sharing.  It’s been on social media for a while so probably many of you have already seen it.  If not please watch. There is a powerful and inspiring message here shared by an amazing woman, a victim of Holocaust, many years after the War. It takes a lot of time to process such a huge pain she’s been through. We all go through pain and hurt in our lives. It is not always that tremendous but it still can be a reason to anxiety, depression, physical disease. We bury our pain, learn to cope with it, forget about the abuse or neglect that happened to us and we move on. But it can still affect us on a subconscious level. The process of forgiveness can have a huge healing effect on your body and mind.  Whatever hurt, big or small, please consider forgiving those who hurt you this Christmas. If you don’t know how this video may help.

“At the end of the day, forgiveness is really not for the other person’s benefit at all — it’s for our own. Regardless of how illogical it may seem at times, it is through unconditional forgiveness that we surrender the past to the past and enter the present, freeing ourselves to stand in the infinite Light that knows how to heal our deepest and most painful wounds,”
states author Dennis Merritt Jones.
